“Mojo Hand” is an album from Lightnin’ Hopkins 1960 sessions for Fire Records. It was released in May, 1962
Lightnin’ Hopkins, was an American country blues singer, songwriter, guitarist and occasional pianist, from Houston, Texas. Rolling Stone magazine included Hopkins at number 71 on their list of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time.
Barry Robinson, when he released “Mojo Hand” on his Fire label, recalled from the recording sessions two years earlier and about the intellectualism of folk and blues writers: “With so much having been said about the man Samuel “Lightnin'” Hopkins…has been probed by every important committee on un-musical activities, even an attempt at assassination by the Mafia’d of Snobdom, and each time came out completely exonerated – there is no room or need for additional dissertation on the great personable career of this titan of the blues.  Lightnin’ stands today, as he has for more than a decade, a giant in the field of focus.”
